Unfortunately, diets are not successful at weight loss. Only 2 % diets are successful and most patients regain the weight very quickly after stopping diet plan. This happens, because diets do not fix the underlying reason for weight gain. Brisk Exercise is also not recommended since you can develop arthritis.
My suggestion is to have a thorough workup including hormone levels ( thyroid, estrogen etc) and try to figure out the underlying reason for weight gain.
