Lipo / tummy tucks for a weight loss patient
It seems like you would, defenitely benefit from agressive liposuction ( preferably liposelecction ) in one or multiple stages.
Your skin is going to shrink significantly, however if you still wanted to have more improvement a tummy tuck would prove to be a helpful operation to remove excess slin in the lower part of the abdomen. (Fereydoon S. Mahjouri, MD, Minneapolis Plastic Surgeon)
Tummy tucks or lipo or both
You are young and without children at this stage. Ideally you need a face to face consult. My advice is to initially consider liposuction and review after about a year.
I prefer vaser liposuction as there is generally a little more skin retraction and less chance of ending up with loose Skin. If this does ensue then consider a tt. (Sultan Hassan, MD, FRCS(Plast), London Plastic Surgeon)
Your skin is already hanging so if you need to lose more weight you will need a tummy tucks in all likelihood or perhaps a mini for now before kids. Best to be seen in person. (Steven Wallach, MD, Manhattan Plastic Surgeon)
Given your skin excess, you are best served by a full tummy tucks and concurrent liposuction. It will give you the results you are looking for. (Delio Ortegon, MD, San Antonio Plastic Surgeon)
Lipo is the wrong procedure here
Lipo treats fat and not skin. You already have loose skin in the photo so more weight loss or liposuction will result in more skin laxity and the increased need for a tummy tucks. Be wary of the docs out there who will offer you “laser lipo” to tighten the skin while removing the fat.
That is rarely successful and mostly offered by docs who are not plastic surgeons and “only” offer lipo . While an abdominoplasty is a bigger procedure it corrects fat, skin, and muscle issues not just fat issues. (Evan Sorokin, MD, Cherry Hill Plastic Surgeon)
It looks like a tummy tucks is the right answer based on your pictures. If you plan to lose any more weight do it first. I do not think your skin will shrink if you do just lipo. (Gregory Lynam, MD, Richmond Plastic Surgeon)
Will I Need a Tummy Tucks or Will Large Volume Lipo Be Ok?
Large volume lipo would leave you in more need for a TT surgery than you are now. With as much skin overhang as you have, your elasticity is poor by definition, and that will not improve. A TT, on the other hand, will give a real improvement. Results will be better and complication risks lower if you were able to lose some more weight before your surgery.
