Lipo tummy tuck
From the photos it is not clear which procedure would be recommended. You may be able to use only liposuction but you need to be examined.
You should consult with a Board Certified PS to see what would be most appropriate. (George Lefkovits, MD, New York Plastic Surgeon)
Tummy Tuck or Lipo alone?
Your question is a very common one. The short answer is that Lipo alone removes fat deposits. It does nothing specifically to the abdominal wall musculature or skin and therefore typically will not produce results that a post-partum woman is satisfied with. ie. a flat stomach.
A tummy-tuck removes excess skin and fat, but more importantly, it addresses the underlying laxity of the abdominal wall musculature, restoring the abdominal wall tone and contour to your pre-pregnancy condition.
This is the real “magic” of a tummy-tuck operation. When you’re serious in pursuing your options, schedule a consultation with a Plastic Surgeon, Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Your surgeon can outline all of your options and you can then decide what makes the most sense for your lifestyle and budget. (Jonathan R. Fugo, DO, Newburgh Plastic Surgeon)
Tummy tuck vs. lipo
The age old question! It’s difficult to say without doing a physical exam, but it looks like you could go either way and get a good result. Go in for a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in body contouring – that’s the best way to get an idea about what your options are. (Elan B. Singer, MD, Manhattan Plastic Surgeon)
I would probably combine the tummy tuck with liposuction to produce the smallest waist. Look at reviews and before and after pictures as well as credentials to select your surgeon. (Kenneth B. Hughes, MD, Los Angeles Plastic Surgeon)
Liposuction reduces volume of fat. It does nothing for the skin – generally speaking. Abdominoplasty ( Tummy Tuck) treats both – the skin and fat. The answer to your question will depend on how much extra skin you have which can only be determined after physical examination. (Thomas Trevisani, Sr., MD, Orlando Plastic Surgeon)
Could I do lipo or do I need a tummy tuck?
From you photo you may be a candidate for either lipo or a tummy tuck. The tummy tuck will probably result in a tighter, smaller waist line. However, be aware that no surgeon or surgery can guarantee a specific waist measurement.
Seek out a board certified plastic surgeon with extensive tummy tuck experience. (Vincent D. Lepore, MD, San Jose Plastic Surgeon)
