Liposuction or abdominoplasty

What would you recommend; Laser liposuction or abdominoplasty?

You are ONLY a candidate for a full Tummy Tuck operation. You are NOT a candidate for laser liposuction. (Darryl J. Blinski, MD, Miami Plastic Surgeon)

Abdominoplasty candidate

Based on your photos, you are an excellent candidate for Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck).

Only an abdominoplasty will be able to address your excess skin and fat.

In a right hands – you can expect great results! Liposuction alone will only address excess fat – and not treat excess skin.

The liposuction or abdominoplasty

So – in this case – best investment would be in Tummy Tuck. Seek an experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon – for an in person evaluation. (Thomas Trevisani, Sr., MD, Orlando Plastic Surgeon)

Abdominoplasty or laser liposuction

Based on your pictures, you will have a far superior result with an abdominoplasty than a liposuction. You would be prone to residual excess skin with laser liposuction alone, as well as contour issues (unevenness) with aggressive laser lipo.As long as you are not a smoker, and are in good health, it seems that you would be a good candidate for a tummy tuck, which would remove the excess skin and fat (and the apron or overhang of your lower belly skin), as well as tightening of the muscles will help your belly appear more flat. Find a board certified plastic surgeon that you trust to fully evaluate you and educate you on your options. (Roxanne Sylora, MD, Orlando Plastic Surgeon)

Laser liposuction or tummy tuck?

Liposuction or abdominoplasty photo

Given the amount of excess skin that you have, in my opinion, liposuction will not provide you with a satisfactory result. Liposuction will remove some excess fat, but the skin will still be loose. It looks like you would benefit from an extended abdominoplasty. (Steven Vath, MD, Denver Plastic Surgeon)

A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) would provide the best abdominal contour improvement. The loose skin, and most likely loose abdominal wall, are indications for an abdominoplasty. Any type of liposuction will reduce some of the excess fat but will do nothing for the loose skin.

I do think that liposuction of the abdomen and sides should be performed at the same time for the best result. This fat as well as the fat from your lower back can be used if desired to increase the size and shape of the buttocks. (Remus Repta, MD, Scottsdale Plastic Surgeon)

An abdominoplasty not laser liposuction may be your best option

Based on your photograph you have far too much excess skin to achieve adequate skin tightening with laser liposuction. An abdominoplasty should be your best option. Understand that if you lose weight first you will have a much better tummy tuck result. When there is excess fat beneath the skin the surgeon is unable to tighten the abdominal skin as much as possible. For more information on tummy tuck surgery please read the following link (Brooke R.
