Only after being examined by a board certified plastic surgeon can it be determined whether you can have one surgery or have two separate surgeries as some procedures can be more involved.

Combined procedures do shorten the down time over two separate ones, though the risks can increase. Length of surgery and amount of surgery are important factors to consider. The procedures you listed are generally safe to have performed during one sitting. I would recommend ensuring that your anesthesia is provided by a board certified anesthesiologist and your surgery is performed by an Anerican Board of Plastic Surgery certified surgeon for safety. It is possible to do all of the procedures you mentioned together and is very common to do so. In our practice this combination takes between 3-4 hours. It is true the more procedures performed and the increased operative time sometimes contribute to a slight higher risk of complications. I would just make sure that this is a common practice for your plastic surgeon and would only be concerned if your quoted an operative time of 8-9 hours but otherwise it should be very safe. If you are in good health, and have an experienced plastic surgeon, what you describe can be done in 4 to 5 hours (assuming you have an average body type) in an outpatient setting. These procedures can be completed at the same time, but maybe not for every patient. Breast augmentation and abdominoplasty surgery is completed together as a combined procedure quite frequently. Adding the arm liposuction and lip fat grafting is the question. You will find several safe doctors that feel comfortable adding the additional liposuction and time to the surgery and others that don’t.

I like to minimize my elective surgical times to about 5 hours when I can. It takes me about 2.5 hours to complete a tummy tuck and about an hour to complete a breast augmentation. That would only leave me about 1.5 hours for the rest of the surgery in your case.

In plastic surgery, more often than not, we combine procedures. In young healthy patients, we set the limit at six to eight hours of surgery and require an over night stay in our facility.
