Will Implants Affect my Pregnancy
Breast implants and pregnancy
Jul 18, 2011
Hi,

The implants should not affect your pregnancy, however depending on the type of surgery and incision there might be an affect on breast feeding. Specifically if the incision is around the areola, there might be a reduction in your ability to breast feed.

Is a Tummy Tuck Realisitc for Me at This Time..

I agree with the comments bellow. You seem to have realistic expectations and well educated about the topic. Once you reach your ideal weight, although it sounds like you’re almost there, go for it!
In Office Liposuction for Tummy Tuck Revision?
post tummy tuck office revisions
May 21, 2011
Hi Beaks,

It is not uncommon to have post tummy tuck touch ups such as liposuction of revision of dog ears.

Waiting for a period of about 3-6 months post operatively is also very reasonable.

If the areas that your plastic surgeon wants to touch up is bothering you, I would consider getting the lip done.

Gaining Weight After Chin/Neck Liposuction
Neck liposuction
May 18, 2011
Dear Curious,

It is very difficult to predict how much weight you can gain to obscure the results of a previous neck liposuction. Some individuals may gain more weight in their face and others in other parts of their body.  Having said that a significant weight gain of 15-20 lbs may affect the results.

Burned by Laser: Open Skin Wounds
Laser liposuction burn
May 18, 2011
Dear Spices,

Although it is not common to have a burn after a laser liposuction procedure, it may happen.  Depending on the level of the depth of the burn and the type of your skin, scarring might be the result, and furthermore, depending on the severity of the scarring you may or may not need a skin graft.

I would recommend a consultation or a second opinion with a board certified plastic surgeon to evaluate your wounds.

Laser Lipolysis for Under Eye Bags?
Laser lipolysis under the eye
Apr 22, 2011
Definitely avoid having laser lipolysis for your under eye bags.  The procedure is experimental at this point and the results are not consistent.  The complications include lower eyelid skin burn and lower eyelid malposition which can be difficult to correct.

I Need a Hip Replacement. Should I Do It Before I Have My Tummy Tuck?
Hip replacement prior to tummy tuck
Apr 22, 2011
Dear Kpintili,

I recommend undergoing  your hip replacement before a tummy tuck as you weigh might fluctuate after the hip replacement. Abdominoplasty is a purely elective procedure and even though the results might make you feel better about your body image, you should proceed with with a more medically indicated procedure.

Can Radiesse Fill the Dent Left After Rhinoplasty?
Radiesse after rhinoplasty
Apr 21, 2011
Dear Jaimee,

Radiesse or other fillers are a safe and effective way to augment nasal contour deformities.  This would  be an excellent alternative for surgical revision.  An additional benefit for using a filler would be the temporary nature of the results if you are not fully satisfied.

Seroma or Normal Swelling 15 Weeks After Tummy Tuck?
Swelling or seroma after a tummy tuck
Apr 21, 2011
Dear Pheonix811,

From the current photo it is difficult to tell if you have swelling or seroma after your tummy tuck.  Both conditions could be present  after the procedure.  The most accurate way to differentiate between the two conditions, aside from a good physical exam, would be an ultrasound of the area. Please be aware though that the procedure may or may not be covered by your insurance company.

I would recommend following up with your surgeon.

24yr male very athletic – small tummy tuck? 6 pac+
tummy tuck vs. laser assisted liposuction
Apr 19, 2011
Dear Zarkis,

Based on your pictures and level of your activity you might be a good candidate for a mini tummy tuck which would address the excess skin or laser assisted liposuction (such as SmartLipo).

Laser assisted liposuction passes a round of laser in the subcutaneous tissues.  The laser helps melting the fat away prior to liposuction and provides the added benefit of improved skin retraction.  It is an excellent option for active patients such as yourself who are…

Thinking of Having a Tummy Tuck
Tummy Tuck to remove excess skin
Apr 15, 2011
Dear Jessica,

Depending on the severity of the stretch marks and skin laxity, tummy tuck might be a great option for your condition. There are different techniques for tummy tuck, but for the most part the procedure should help with excess skin above the belly button as well.

I would suggest though that before you make a decision about the procedure to seriously consider if you are planning on future pregnancies. The reason would be that any future pregnancy will disrupt any facial…

Neck Firming Options
sagging neck and neck lift options
Mar 27, 2011
There are surgical and nonsurgical neck firming options. Depending of the severity of the sagginess, some patients may be treated non surgical with Botox. Other options would include laser assisted liposuction, such as SmartLipo, as a minimally invasive method of neck lift. And finally, traditional neck lift for severe cases. I recommend a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. K. Jacob Cohen-Kashi, NY plastic surgeon.
Tummy Tuck Without Drainage Tubes
Tummy tuck and drains
Mar 23, 2011
Tummy tuck should not interfere with your tubal ligation. With regard to drain, most plastic surgeons use drains to minimize the post operative incidence of seromas (fluid collections) under your skin.  Different techniques are available in order reduce the change of seroma formation.  These include spraying with special fibrin glue material or using quilting sutures between the subcutaneous tissue and the abdominal wall.  If your surgeon uses these techniques, he or she might…
How Common is Infection with Abdominoplasty?
Infections after tummy tuck
Mar 21, 2011
Infections after a tummy tuck are very rare, but their incidence go a little higher when combined with other intra abdominal procedures, such as hysterectomy or bowl surgery. It is totally understandable to be nervous prior to surgery, but I would encourage you not to generalize from a single experience of your friend.

You might consider meeting with your surgeon again prior to surgery to discuss your concerns. K. Jacob Cohen-Kashi, MD New York Plastic Surgeon.

Is Exercising Changing my Implants?
Breast implants and exercise
Mar 20, 2011
You mentioned that your sillicone breast implants are placed under your muscle.  This provides you with the most amount of tissue coverage for the implants. In some very active patients, as the pectoralis muscles hypertrophy, their animation over the implant may result in changes of the appearance of the implants. This phenomenon is reffered to as "window shading".

It is difficult to tell if this might be the case based on the photos. You might want to follow up with…
