You are a great candidate for a full tummy tuck . Anything short of this will likely be a waste of your time and money. Plication (muscle tightening) of the upper and lower abdomen will flatten your tummy before pulling the skin down and removing the excess thereby leaving you with a new tummy that is smooth and flat with a scar that is hidden in your bikini line. I agree, do it.

It is true that a mini-TT is what everyone wants: minimal scar and a smoother recovery. However, very few individuals are true candidates for a straight forward mini-TT. You should check with your surgeon about his revision policy. Typically some surgeons will charge a revision fee within the first 6-12 months after surgery to cover costs of the return to the operating room. You will likely need pocket reduction surgery to get the implants back up into position. In some settings patients will also need to place Strattice which is a biologic tissue matrix to support the implant internally.

It is feasible to place Strattice without having to replace implants. In some settings you may want to replace the implant if it is not the correct implant for your body and chest wall width.

Typically hairstylist are on their feet all day.  When doing liposuction of the lower legs you can get more swelling when being on your feet for extended periods of time.  It is best to check with your surgeon but typically you would want to start with half days and work your way up to full.  Most patients can go back to work at about 2 weeks  (sooner for sedentary work) but this depends on the area that was treated.

You may have not gotten all of the stitch.    I would suggest you get in to see your surgeon right away to minimize risk of further complications.  They may need to clean it out and put you on wound dressing changes.  It would be suggested that you do not put silicone scar guards over the area that is open as it can trap infection and keep it from healing.

This needs to be addressed with your doctor immediately.   You may have an infected stitch that needs to be removed.  This may need surgical debridement and possibly even a wound VAC to get this healed.  This will likely not heal on its own and needs to be addressed with your doctor right away.
Is it better to have a lift at the time of explant or to wait 6 - 8 months?

This all depends on the patient and can be determined through  physical exam.  I tend to have my patients wait 4-6 months after implant removal before getting a breast lift.  There have been many times that a patient seemed they would need a lift but after waiting 4 months the breasts and skin contracted back enough where they did not need a lift any longer.  If this was the case then it would save the patient time, money and incisions.

Typically a mini tuck only addresses the skin and sometimes diastasis below the belly button.  You would get your best results from a full tummy tuck.

It is best to consult with your physician to see exactly what the spots are but it may be post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.  You may need to be treated with a hydroquinone  and possible  tretinoin as well to help the dark spots go away.  This can take 6-12 months in some cases to see a difference.

Most of the swelling should subside within 4-6 weeks but may take longer in some settings.  You may continue to see changes even up to 6 months.

I used to use a compression bra post implant removal but found that no compression helped the breasts contract back up more naturally.  You should consult with your plastic surgeon and he will give you a recommendation based on his technique and post op care.
Would like to know if a lower body lift is the way to go?

You would need to be evaluated to determine if you are an ideal candidate for a lower body lift.  If there is excess skin in the buttock and thigh area you may be a candidate for this surgery.  If your lose skin is minimal you could try some less invasive approaches such as cellulaze or Velashape.

Once the skin is completely healed you should apply sunscreen.  It is best to check with your doctor but typically it is around 10-14 days post treatment.  Try to avoid any sun exposure that first 2 weeks after the procedure.

Depending on what was done in surgery I recommend no strenuous activity for 6-8 weeks. When starting to exercise you should start slowly and work your way up to full activity.
