The photos appear to be a strong likelihood of a post operative hematoma. A physical exam would obviously be best for a definitive diagnosis. I would seek close follow up with your plastic surgeon. If lack of improvement or worsening symptoms, radiologic evaluation vs exploration would be necessary.

It appears that the outline is a accentuated vermillion border ( demarcation between lip and adjacent skin). I always ask patients prior to filler placement to describe their desired result and even provide similar photos of lips they desire. Hi and thank you for your question. 5 weeks post tummy tuck is very early draw conclusions of what your final outcome would be. It is impossible to make a completely accurate assessment without a physical exam, but from your photos, the swelling and scarring is reasonable at the 5 week mark. I’m sorry you are experiencing a unfortunate result from Botox around the lip area. The good news is Botox is not permanent and likely will resolve sooner than 3 months due to typical low dose placement to the lip area. Although some filler, used sparingly may be beneficial for smoker lines, I have found laser resurfacing to be truly the best treatment for the ideal result. Down time is a little difficult with management of peeling etc.. for 10-14 days but the results are unmatched. I have found Botox to be of some benefit to soften lines but will require upkeep every 3 months.

Thank you for your question and sharing your photos. In view of your photos, it appears your PS closed the incision in a way to try and avoid a extended resulting scar. Although there are no guarantees, these small folds tend to flatten over time. Just be patient, but always voice concerns with your plastic surgeon.

6 weeks post op return to “regular activities “ is a general guideline after abdominoplasty surgery. Every patient is different and therefore their recovery may fluctuate. My philosophy is to treat each patient individually and allow them to return to exercise activities slowly depending on how they feel. If you are still very sore, then crunches are probably not s good idea at this point. The binder may be worn for comfort, but likely has little to no benefit at this point.
