Answer Snippet
Swelling and upper abdomen protruding – what could this be?
Swelling above navel
Dec 1, 2016
Thank you for your inquiry.

The issue you are having is dependent on the time course following your surgery. This could be related to normal postoperative soft tissue swelling, muscle/abdominal wall plication swelling. However, it could also be related to an abdominal wall buldge. The only way determine the true etiology is for you to contact your board-certified plastic surgeon for an exam. He or she will reassure you and provide the answer you are seeking.

Pre-op tests for healthy 60 year old for tummy tuck?
Medical clearance for tummy tuck in 6th decade
Nov 30, 2016
Thank you for your question. My suggestion is to arrange a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon near you to review your medical history and determine if further testing is needed. Generally, if you reasonably healthy the labs/EKG that you recently obtained should suffice.
Breast liposuction following tradtional breast reduction?
Too big after your reduction
Nov 29, 2016
Thank you for your question. The best way to decipher if your breasts are still too large for your frame is to check in with your plastic surgeon. The amount of tissue to be removed is usually discussed at your consultation and reviewed during your post-operative visits. Generally, doing liposuction after a reduction surgery will only slightly improve the results and reduce the size minimally. The integrity and quality of your skin will need to be assessed by the surgeon to determine…

Your “wish pics” are attainable
Oct 18, 2015
Thank you for your inquiry. Based on your photos and your mindset of wanting natural, fuller breast shape I believe your “wish pics” can be achieved. Having a discussion with the board-certified plastic surgeon, trying on various implants based on your body demensions, and visualizing your result with 3-D imaging will help you solidify your decision. Best of luck.

Gastric bypass weight loss and TT option
Oct 8, 2015
Congrats on the weight loss. Weight Plateauing after this surgery is common and this may be your situation. Removing the extra skin and contouring the abdominal muscles would benefit you. However, one cannot guarantee your back pain would improve. Seek out a board-certified plastic surgeon for a consult to go over your options and give you realistic expectations. Best of luck to you.
Should I wait until after kids to get Breast Augmentation?
Breast Augmentation, before or after pregnancy?
Oct 3, 2015
As you can see with the multiple answers on whether you should have breast augmentation prior to becoming pregnant again it is a personal choice. During the consultation you should able to discuss the pros/cons of breast aug during your transition time. Seek out a board-certified plastic surgeon to help you with this choice.
Am I a good candidate for a tummy tuck?
Weight loss and post-pregnancy abdomen
Sep 30, 2015
Thank you for your question and congrats on the weight loss. Based on your photo you seem to be a great TT candidate. If you’ve reached your goal weight seek out a board certified plastic surgeon for consultation.
Over the past 3 years I’ve given birth to two beautiful kids with c-section. My skin is very loose.
Loose skin equals tummy tuck
Aug 17, 2015
Congratulations on your two kids. Pregnancy tends to reek havoc on the abdominal wall resulting in skin stretch, muscle changes, and stretch marks. Reshaping the abdominal contour and restoring your appearance to its natural form should be your goal. Seek out a board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options.Best, Matt Blanton, MD
Breast lift or Breast Implants? My breast are saggy and not youthful but I don’t want to be bigger
Lift vs both aug + lift
May 20, 2015
A personal consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon should help with your dilemma. Based on your photos a lift is likely needed. I find patients in your situation usually decide on both an augment and lift to achieve their goal. Many patients also find the 3-D photo analysis (VECTRA) extremely beneficial in simulating these results. Best of luck.

Sagging skin issue
May 10, 2015
You present a good example on why one can’t predict the skin elasticity after an abdominoplasty following massive weight loss. Without seeing your preop photos and examine you I can only guess you likely had horizontal and vertical skin excess requiring both a horizontal scar (you received this one) but a vertical scar as well. Some of my patients stage this because they initially hate the idea of the vertical scar. We’ll do the horizontal incision and abdominal wall plication first….

Has your breast development maxed out?
Jan 17, 2015
You pose a good question that I see all the time. Given your current age you most likely have completed your breast development. If you’re an A cup now you’ll likely stay an A cup. If you want to increase your bust size then my recommendation would be to seek out a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon to perform an exam and discuss your breast augmentation options. Keep in mind that at 17yo you’ll need your parents approval if you desire to proceed with surgery.
Will my areola fill out after augmentation?
Will the nipple areola complex fill after augmentation
Jan 3, 2015
I agree that your breast appearance is well suited for breast augmentation. You have the typical breast deflation seen after having children and breast feeding (BTY, congratulations on your two children) and a breast augmentation would improve both your nipple-areola projection and overall breast shape. I’d recommend an evaluation by a board-certified plastic surgeon to go over the ideal implant choice and size so you can make a decision if a breast augmentation is right for you….
Breast Augmentation: What implants should I get?
Implant recommendation difficulty
Dec 24, 2014
Your question about what breast implants should you choose for breast augmentation is not that easy to answer. You are correct about the vast implant selections available and one can get boggled down with too many details over one manufacturer and implant style. Simply speaking you have to decide what works best for you. The best way to determine this is to seek a consultation from a board-certified plastic surgeon who is familiar with each implant style. During your consultation you’ll have…
How long should I be off work for Breast Lift w/o implants and Tummy Tuck?
Average time off from work following mommy makeover
Sep 11, 2014
You have brought up a very common question following the “mommy makeover” procedure that I routinely go over during the consultation. If you are combining both of your procedures you’ll conservatively need 2-3 weeks off from work. As for lifting restrictions check with your surgeon, but most likely it will be 6 weeks of no heavy lifting (i.e. nothing >10 lbs.). Best of luck to you and make sure to seek out a board-certified plastic surgeon.

Being slightly overweight helps with gluteal sculpting
Jul 11, 2014
There unfortunately is not a magic weight for patients seeking gluteal reshaping. The ideal patient for this procedure is typically slightly overweight…you don’t look the part. One has to possess enough “donor fat” to achieve an ideal gluteal shape. To be certain I’d recommend scheduling an appointment with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Keep in mind this procedure involves a correction of proportions (i.e. liposuction of your love handles, inner and outer thighs, abdomen) followed by…
