Answer Snippet
I am 4’11”. I weigh 96lbs. I need a breast lift with implants. Will 350cc hp implants be too big
No “one right answer”
Feb 26, 2015
Looking at your photos and knowing your height and weight….I would think that 350 could push you to the “high side” on the volume. You appear to have larger breast than I might expect for your overall volume. When that tissue is re-positioned and an implant placed under that…you may have a breast that exceeds what we might describe as a “normal” breast. However, implant sizers are very helpful. Remember some breast tissue will be removed with the lift (usually)…
Will I benefit from liposuction or Tummy Tuck?
Happy
Feb 26, 2015
Your photos would lead me to encourage an abdominoplasty with some lateral flank liposuction. While you could have liposuction alone and it could be sucessful in making things better….it would likely fail to make you “Happy”. A “flatter” and more appropriately contoured abdomen will only come with an abdominoplasty. Realigning the musculature will have a profound impact. Regardless of the choice, you would improve your overall outcome by losing some additional…
Should I be worried?
Be patient
Feb 4, 2015
While it is never “part of the plan” wound breakdown in those 2 locations are not uncommon. It is also common for the wound to slowly enlarge…but your phots would lead me to believe that process is “mostly done”. You will be fine, but be patient. It will heal slower than you or your doctor would like. Conservative wound care will take care of it. Do NOT use a lot of “self-medication” with ointments etc. Be diligent that worrisome changes such as…
Will implants alone give me any lift or will I have big saggy boobs?
You will do great
Jan 8, 2015
From the attached photos, it does not appear that you need a lift. The right implant size should take care of the “upper defeciency” and take care of problems. It is difficult to know for sure…however, 375-425 implants should be close to “right” but you should expect to be a D Cup. I believe you will be happy.
This is my 4th day home after my breast reduction. I’m itching in my breast areas and between the
Hmmmm
Sep 30, 2014
There are a number of potential causes of this problem. Neosporin is a common problem….especially if an occlusive dressing is placed over the original wound. Since this is a “contact allergy” is not un common for this problem to not present for several days after its application Other causes include “reaction” to the dressing or pre-existing skin fungal infections. Steroid creams or gels (diprolene or other topicals) a used on these problems….however, the…
Is pain and tightness normal 8 days post op? Is it normal to have good days and bad days?
That is pretty normal.
Sep 8, 2014
It is not unusual at all to have good days and bad days….especially after having a submuscular breast aug. As you activities increase and you begin “bouncing around” a little more, patients frequently have an increase in pain. It can be “muscle spasm” especially if it “goes and comes”. Share your concerns with your doctor.
Can doctors lie or give false statement?
Intent and reality
Aug 29, 2014
The very fact that you ask the question is interesting…..Capsular contracture rates generally are unrelated to the initial surgical event. The cause of capsular contracture is poorly understood and it is unlikely that any doctor that you meet has a contracture rate that varies significantly from national averages. Unless a physicain is involved in a controlled study, it is unlikely that he is telling you a calculated statistical number. However, he may telling you a…
Will 400 ccs be suitable for petite, athletic woman? I’m 34 years old, 5’3 and 140 pounds. (Photos
On the list
May 29, 2014
Ultimately, you will need to decide your implant size. While your doctor may limit your choices to sizes he is comfortable with, you will have the deciding vote. Based on your appearance, I would guess 350-425 cc. a 425 will likely make you a “D-Cup” and a 350 a “small C-cup” Again…guessing….I would likely lead you toward the 375-400 cc range primaraly since you express some concerns about being too large. While someone may try to “show you” with a computer…
1 week post op of Breast Augmentation, what is the cause for my right incision under my breast in
Tape, Neosporin or Vitamin E
May 29, 2014
Occasionally patients will have a rash around their inscision. I often will place steri-stips over the wound and while that rash may not be there at the time the tape comes off, it appears shortly afterwards. It is very itchy, slightly raises and “bubbly”. I have seen this also occur after surgery because of patients use of Neosporin or Vitamin E….but this is most often 2-3 weeks later. I would make sure your plastic surgeon is aware and he will know what to do….
What is involved in a BA revision and reduction in size? How soon can I have it done?
Hang in there
May 23, 2014
First, you are in the early stages of “settling” with this procedure and I would encourage you to be patient. Secondly, you pictures show what I would describe as a D Cup size. Much of the fullness that you see in the upper breast is a transient issue and it is a little early to describe that as a “snoopy dog” deformity. That will get better. Besides that, give it some time. You have never looked like this and it will take some time to adjust to the new look….
What are these raised strips below my belly button? I’m 4 days post op.
Don’t worry.
May 20, 2014
It is either a stretch mark or and inscisional scar. Looking at your preoperative pictures, there appears to be a large stretch mark or a scar….Regardless, it is an area where the skin is “thinned” and the swelling makes that area “bulge up” a little, but as the swelling goes down, the appearance should improve… So don’t worry. Looks like you are going to get a nice result.
Will my belly button heal into a presentable shape ?
Should be fine
Jan 14, 2014
Wounds like this are very common and should be treated by dressings/wound care and typically heal uneventfully. It is difficult to know what it will ultimately will look like, but it is best to wait 3 months or so before “jumping to any conclusions”. It is possible a revision will be needed and if so, it is usually something that can be done in an office setting since the surrounding tissue is usually “numb”. Keep in mind, there is no such thing as a “normal belly button”…
Can My Tummy Tuck Be Fixed? (after)
Not fair to judge your results when sitting
Jan 13, 2014
I am not sure what to say since the only photo is in a sitting posture. You can only judge the outcome by reviewing upright “before and after”. I suspect you look better standing… and you may have a fairly balanced look if your “operation” is viewed in the context to the rest of your body.Always share your thoughts with your doctor
I’m getting breast augmentation and was told that I needed a lift also. I really don’t want a lift
Sorry
Jan 13, 2014
As a plastic surgeon….my rule is…”never do a lift on someone you don’t have to and Never ‘not do a lift’ when you have to.”. No doubt…you need a lift, but it is the only way to achieve a balanced breast appearance. You simply have to accept that, because, you would not be happy with larger droopy breast.
Tummy Tuck and Teardrop Naval Surgery?
Other causes
Oct 2, 2013
Are you using Neosporin ointment of vitamin E or other magic potions. Contact dermatitis is not an uncommon event with the use of these and other things…Otherwise, ask your doc if you can use a little hydrocortisone cream for 4 or 5 days. Ask before you do that.
