Yes, there may be multiple options for breast reconstruction which may include using tissue from another part of your body to repair the severely burned skin/tissue or implant based with or without your own tissue to assist with volume asymmetries and tissue defects. It is important to choose a plastic surgeon who has experience with reconstructive plastic surgery. Again, thank you for your question.
Is it a bad idea to travel outside of my state for Breast Reconstruction Surgery/Mastectomy?

I have many patients that may travel from out of state for a portion of their breast cancer treatment especially reconstruction. It is important to understand that there is often some follow-up required and if a tissue expander is used you may need to return for expansions and an additional surgery for the implant placement. I would discuss with your plastic surgeon what type of follow-up and after care may be required at the time of your consultation.
