Would I need a lift with my implants or would I be fine with just implants if I get a larger cc? (photo
Implants alone will probably not achieve the goal pics you have
Feb 10, 2020
Your pictures show at least medium sagging which will probably not change enough even with larger implants, to look like the goal pictures you included.
However, even if you do not look exactly like your goal pictures, you may find the implants alone are acceptable, depending on how much sagging is ok with you. A breast lift afterwards is a reasonable option if you find the implants alone not enough.
Definitely talk with your surgeon and think about what your goals are as well….
How do I communicate what I’m trying to achieve with my implants and choose the size/profile? High prof
485 will probably be sufficient volume-wise but natural appearance will depend on many factors
Feb 10, 2020
It will depend greatly on your height and proportions, but 485 cc is probably sufficient for most patients to go from an A to large C/small D. However, whether you achieve a “natural” look will depend on technique of placement as well as your frame size. Different ways to help visualize your look include sizers or imaging systems. 14.5 cm is relatively broad so if that measurement is accurate, possible up sizing may be helpful to ensure the volume you want. Make sure you communicate…
How common is it for plastic surgeons to shred breast implant patient’s records?
Your surgeon should have your implant information for at least 7 years minimum. Otherwise try the manufacturer.
Feb 10, 2020
7 years is generally the length of time legally mandated for surgeons to maintain medical records. For silicone implants, surgeons report specific information about the implants to the manufacturer. If you know the implant manufacturer, you can try to reach out to them to see if they have your report on file. Good luck!
Do I require a lift along with the 400cc high profile implant I’m hoping to go with?
It is possible a lift may not be needed
Feb 9, 2020
It is certainly possible that a 400 cc high profile implant alone may be sufficient to fill the flattened breast envelope without a lift required. Your physical measurements as well as careful physical examination by your surgeon will allow them to determine the likelihood of that. Good luck!
Is it possible to have fullness restored without a lift and without looking augmented?
Natural fullness without a mastopexy may be a challenge
Feb 9, 2020
Your photos show mild to somewhat moderate sagging. Implants alone without mastopexy, depending on technique (placement, size) may achieve what you want but it will depend on your expectations in regards to final breast size and degree of sagging acceptable to you.
Most surgeons you consult will probably recommend a mastopexy in addition to implants but if you are willing to tolerate some degree of sagging, implants alone may be okay. Also you can consider implants alone first and then see…
Is it possible that I can get my own meds with my insurance?
Medications and insurance
Sep 28, 2015
It depends on the medications and insurance coverage.Ask your surgeon what medications are needed, and check with your insurance to see if those medications are covered.Typical medications after procedures include pain medications, antibiotics, and support medications such as anti-nausea or anti-constipation pills. You will need a prescription from a provider in order to get the medications from a pharmacy. As always, communicate with your surgeon so that you two are on the same page.Good luck!
Takes on vaping before BA surgery and after?
Vaping (E-cigarettes) and breast augmentation
Sep 23, 2015
While vaping does not contain tar and smoke, e-cigarettes contain a mix of other chemicals, which can be harmful. The flavoring agents may be carcinogenic, such as formaldehyde and acetaldehyde.I assume you are using a 12mg/mL nicotine strength e-liquid. Depending on how much solution you use a day, you are probably absorbing a significant amount of nicotine.Nicotine is well known to delay healing and increase the risk of infection. Unfortunately, it is also extremely…
I am scheduled for BA in 2 days. I’m not feeling nervous or excited. Is this normal?
Feelings prior to breast augmentation
Sep 22, 2015
Patients often have a wide range of emotions, from anxiety to nothing, as you describe. This is not unusual. Sometimes people feel calm until right before the procedure, when they feel a rush of anxiety. As long as your decision to undergo breast augmentation was reasoned, thoughtful and planned, then your emotional state sounds reasonable and normal.Good luck!
So my question is would I benefit from smart lipo and lift, or breast reduction and tummy tuck?
Smart lipo vs tummy tuck and breast lift vs breast reduction
Sep 9, 2015
For smart liposuction vs tummy tuck – the question is how much extra skin is there?1. If there is a lot of extra skin, or unsightly stretch marks, then tummy tuck may be more helpful.2. If the love handles are mostly fat, then any liposuction (including smart lipo) may be more appropriate. For breast lift vs breast reduction – the two are often similar. The difference is usually volume amount.1. Breast reduction usually means greater volume removal than breast lift.2. Incisions sometimes can…
Should a compression belt hurt when using it after breast augmentation?
Compression belt after breast augmentation
Sep 9, 2015
A compression belt (or breast strap) after breast augmentation is usually used to help the implants settle into a better position. The belt can cause pressure, which may be uncomfortable. However, the discomfort should lessen over time.Sometimes the belt can be rough and irritating to the skin. Wearing a soft shirt under the belt can help. The belt should be firm but not so tight as to cause real pain. Generally the belt should be worn as much as possible. If you experience pain, not…
Large vagina labia and clit?
Vibrator use and genital size
Sep 8, 2015
Genital stimulation causes increased blood flow, which causes swelling. However, the swelling goes down once stimulation stops.Continued vibrator use should not permanently increase your genital size.Reduction surgery should result in permanent size reduction. Vibrator use in the future may cause temporary swelling, but the temporary swelling should not be as much as it was before the reduction procedure. Please communicate your concerns with your surgeon and good luck!
Am I too big for butt lift/slimmed waist?
Too big for butt lift or slimmed waist
Sep 8, 2015
The question is: what is your ultimate goal weight?Your goal weight is what fits you as an individual. Some patients want to be 150 pounds, others 175, and even others 200. No weight fits everyone. Then, I recommend before your procedure to get within 10 to 15 pounds of that goal weight. This will optimize the results of your butt lift and slimmed waist procedure.Healthy weight loss is hard, but to keep your new figure after the procedure, it helps to start working before your procedure. You…
I am considering breast augmentation or implants. Which is the best option for me?
Breast augmentation or implants
Sep 7, 2015
I assume the two options you are considering are (1) fat transfer to breasts or (2) breast implants.Fat transfer to breasts:1. No synthetic material (ie. all natural)2. Breast size increase is small to moderate, but permanent3. Amount of actual increase is variable in each patient4. The liposuction used to get the fat can improves other body areasBreast implants:1. Synthetic material (silicone shell with silicone gel or saline fluid)2. Breast size increase can be planned exactly. Larger…
How can tell if it is post op swelling (liposuction), or a failed procedure?
Post op swelling after liposuction, or failed procedure
Sep 7, 2015
Post-operative swelling after liposuction is a very common issue. Factors that play a big role include:1. Type of liposuction (manual, power-assist, laser)2. Body area (for example, back usually recovers faster than belly)3. Volume of fat removed4. Recovery protocol (compression garment, massage treatments)5. Surgeon experienceUsually 3 days after liposuction is too early to judge post-op swelling, especially if you had previous liposuction 3 months ago. However, it is unusual to have…
Regarding subpectoral breast augmentation, what are the considerations for weight lifters?
Subpectoral breast augmentation for weight lifters
Sep 7, 2015
For any patients with extremely developed pectoral muscles:1. You can continue to work the chest before surgery, but make sure to take the recommended time off after surgery.2.
