Best to ring and ask each one what there hospital cover covers. Personally I m with people care n ive had no issues

  2. Tracy says:

I’m with Medibank private and have had no issues at all. I can recommend my surgeon highly but I’m in Tasmania so you probably don’t want to travel down here!

  3. Miranda says:

Nib covered my whole $13,000.00 hospital stay fee. I can recommend my surgeon. I am in Sydney, where are you Sherin ?

  4. Sherin says:

    I’m in Sydney

  5. Miranda says:

Sherin my plastic surgeon is Dr. Jeremy Hunt. His office is in Edgecliff and does his surgery at Prince of Wales Private hospital.

  6. Shanelle says:

Medibank, I found it was the most upfront with what it covered, there weren’t any hidden fees

  7. Miranda says:

Miranda I got back $1300.00 from NIB.

  8. Te says:

Is that just from nib or does that include the medicare refund aswell?

  9. Miranda says:

no, i only got anoter $366.00 from medicare

  10. Karen says:

I’m with medibank and was very happy

  11. Michelle says:

So how long do you have the private health cover to have it done?

  12. Karen says:

    Normally a year Michelle.

  13. Michelle says:

Oh bugger that I’ll just pay the full price.

  14. Tracy says:

If paying for it yourself just be aware that the hospital costs are phenomenal! I got an email from Medibank telling me how much my recent 4 day stay for arm and leg lifts was…..$7854! Based on that info my tummy tuck hospital costs would have been $59000 ( admittedly I had extended stay and readmissions). I had 15 days for initial tummy tuck surgery then was re admitted for a week two weeks after discharge, then 3 months later another week for seroma surgical draining

  15. Michelle says:

I’m getting a tummy tuck breast aug and been quoted roughly 20000. Does that sound about right?

  16. Miranda says:

Are you having a breast lift with your Aug? Any Lipo?

  17. Tracy says:

does that include hospital or is that just from the surgeon Michelle Smith? I know my surgeon didn’t include aneathetist or hospital charges in his quote

  18. Miranda says:

Sounds a bit pricey to me

  19. Miranda says:

no implants, I had a lift with reduction

  20. Michelle says:

No that was everything as far as I know. I have an appointment this week and an appointment with a different surgeon in a few weeks. But I reckon I’ll be goin with the second one

  21. Tracey says:

Wow! So perky and perfectly shaped

  22. Miranda says:

Are you staying in hospital? Because that cost will be on top of your quote if your health fund doesn’t cover. Just make sure of all of that.

  23. Miranda says:

I’m so happy with them Tracey , he did an amazing job. have you seen my before and afters?

  24. Tracy says:

As Miranda said I’d double check that the hospital stay is included as generally the surgeon’s don’t include that or the anesthetist costs.

  25. Miranda says:

No, my anaes cost was another $4k, and hospital would have been another $13k if my fund didn’t cover it.

  26. Michelle says:

I don’t have private health insurance. But the quotes I got they knew that. They said that was after my medicate rebates. Who knows I’m confused now

  27. Miranda says:

Please make sure you know the hospital fees and anaes. They can be quite a rude shock lol

  28. Tracy says:

Just give them a call and ask if the quote included hospital costs and aneathetist. Best to know 100% what you are up for as if paying for it yourself it’s a lot of money to find!

  29. Michelle says:

Yeah now I’m a bit stressed because I only have $20000

  30. Tracy says:

Sorry to cause stress… just double check so you know for sure! Then as sad as it would feel if you need to the worst case scenario is sign up for private health and wait the 12 months. It would feel horrendous now but the time really does fly by… look how quick this year seems to have gone… it seems like yesterday it was Christmas and here it is August already!

  31. Miranda says:

Or could you maybe get a loan for the rest?

  32. Michelle says:

The 20 I have is already from a loan

  33. Karen says:

For the first time since my tummy tuck op my floppy part on my belly has gone down a little.
I’m not sure why but I changed 2 things today.
I decided to stop having my protein shake in the morning and went back to my Greek yoghurt and frozen mango smoothie for breakfast that was one change.
I was told the protein shakes may bloat me which might make my belly look more swollen.
The second thing I did different was I went to the gym twice today. This morning I went just on the treadmill and this afternoon I went on machines. I gave the stomach crunch machine a go.
I couldn’t do many as when I straightened up it didn’t feel right so I didn’t use the machine perfectly but maybe it helped flatten my puffy part some how lol!
Anyway no gym tomorrow so just drink… Will see what it looks like at the end of the day.

  34. Steph says:

That’s good but I didn’t know you had a puffy part?

I can’t wait to see Dr L in 2weeks & get the all clear for ab work, I’m 13weeks 2days after tummy tuck, hopefully we are all able to get back to complete exercising again really soon

  35. Karen says:

Step I have a puffy part from when I got fluid.
Was told when I have my review that if I’m not happy and it’s still there Dr Lawrence will redo it as she won’t be happy.
Julia I’m still hard in places so not sure when that goes soft.

  36. Steph says:

Oh ok then well that’s good to know she’s got it if it doesn’t 100% go away
