The first thing that you have to realize and what should have been gone over in your consultation is that just because you have a abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) does not mean that all of your stretch marks will be gone. ONLY the stretch marks in the area of the skin excision will be removed.
Any stretch mark which is not located in the area of skin excision can possibly be lowered but will not be removed. Also, pulling the skin tight does not remove the remaining stretch marks.

When I perform a tummy tuck I place the patient in an almost seated position to remove as much excess skin as possible and use multiple layers of sutures which also secure the skin flap down to the lower abdominal fascia to make sure the incision stays low.

In my opinion – you are a perfect candidate for a Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty). All of the stretch marks below the belly button will be removed. During the procedure we can then better determine how much of the stretch marks above the belly button can be removed. It is likely that approximately the upper most one inch of stretch marks above the belly button will remain – but they will be in the lower groin region of just above your pubic hair line. In summary, 90% or more of your stretch marks will be removed. Those few remaining will be much less visible because of the stretching of the skin and their repositioning in the lower groin region. great question and I understand your concerns. I think that about 75% of your stretch marks will be removed. The ones that remain will be much lower so that the mid portion of your tummy won’t have any. You will still have some around your sides.
