There are two types of tummy tucks in my mind the full abdominoplasty that I recommend fort least 90% of my patients because they have excess skin above the umbilicus. The other form is a modified tummy tuck whether that means mini or panniculectomy with liposuction or something short of a full tummy tuck. Less than 10% of my patients are good candidates are any modification due to their state of the upper abdomen. But excess skin will need to be excised in my experience in some fashion.
