Tummy tuck and buttock augmentation surgery
Tummy tuck and buttock augmentation surgery can be combined
As long as you are healthy, do not smoke, and not too far from your ideal body weight you should do well.
Trying to minimize the amount of time you spend laying on your back for the first two weeks after surgery will help to minimize resorption of the transferred fat.
Ideally if you could lay on your sides after surgery, it would be helpful. This is best done by propping a pillow under your back while in bed.
This is a tall order when you have had both procedures, but do your best. (Robert F. Centeno, MD, FACS, Fairfax Plastic Surgeon)
Tummy tuck and brazilian buttock augmentation surgery
It is quit possible to have a tummy tuck and buttock augmentation surgery at the same time, although it may be difficult to get into a comfortable position after surgery when you lie in bed. (Steven Wallach, MD, Manhattan Plastic Surgeon)
Yes, but be cautious about postoperative positioning
I agree that performing the surgery at the same time provides: All around body contour Use for otherwise discarded fat Generally lower cost Just keep in mind that it will be hard to position yourself after surgery.
The tummy tuck will make it hard to lay on your stomach, and the fat grafting will make it hard to sit. If recovery is not an issue (meaning you can take extra time to split the procedures) and you have enough fat in the flanks, consider splitting up the procedure as your overall recovery will be a bit easier. Either way, most patient’s LOVE these procedures! (Brian Dorner, MD, Columbus Plastic Surgeon)
Tummy tuck and BBL during the same operation? Yes.
This is one of the most common combination procedures offered in our practice. Typically, liposuction is performed upon the lower back, waist, and flanks, and the fatty tissue collected is the washed, purified, and carefully placed into the buttocks. Then, the surgery continues with some repositioning of the patient (all while under anesthesia for your comfort), and a tummy tuck is performed.
Some of the patient photos are of this very combination. The overall healing process is not lengthened when adding the buttock augmentation surgery to the tummy tuck. (Joseph D. Alkon, MD, Newark Plastic Surgeon)
Tummy Tuck and buttock augmentation surgery at the same time? Is it possible?
Yes, it certainly is. I often tell people that if you are looking to have 2 procedures performed, have them combined, one recovery and usually a bit cheaper. I always lipo the abdominal and flank area when performing a tummy tuck, and rather than discarding the fat it is best to utilize the fat, and there is no where better than the buttocks for fat grafting.
Your recovery is not lengthened and results are only improved by combining the two procedures. Good luck and make sure you are comfortable with your surgeon (Jonathan Weiler, MD, Baton Rouge Plastic Surgeon)
Combining Tummy Tuck and Fat Transfers to the Buttock
In my opinion and experience, combining an abdominoplasty with fat transfers to the buttock is a great idea. When performing an abdominoplasty, we routinely use liposuction to thin the overlying fat layer. This allows better definition than a tummy tuck alone in patients who need it.
Rather than discard this fat, it can be used to augment other areas of the body, such as the buttock. You may have a bit more discomfort than the tummy tuck alone, but this should be nominal and not require any additional time off of work. (Lawrence Iteld, MD, Chicago Plastic Surgeon)
