Tummy tuck before children

Tummy tuck before more children

I agree that there are very few patients who are great candidates for a mini tummy tuck.

And lipo alone will do nothing for the stretch marks and the skin.

But doing a full TT before more children isn’t a great plan because you might need to redo it all after more kids.

Might want to rethink this. (Richard P. Rand, MD, FACS, Seattle Plastic Surgeon)

Having Tummy Tuck and still want childrens

Yes a full TT and Lipo will give you a nicer body contour. Question will be how far from now you are planning to get pregnant. If it is in the near future maybe you should wait, not really because it will be a medical problem, but, because you will not enjoy your new body enought time and it will be not worth to spend money, down time and all the important aspects involved in a major surgery.

Share your concern with your PS and together find the best option. Doing something for this summer to enhance your body contour tough, w/o TT you can always consider a pure Liposculpture. (Ricardo Vega, MD, Mexico Plastic Surgeon)

Mini tummy tuck vs. full tummy tuck, fascial tightening

The tummy tuck before children

It is best to wait until you are done having children before having any surgery that would tighten the fascia, and probably any tummy tuck surgery unless your problem is too terrible to live with (as in massive weight loss patients). Also, there are many procedures between the mini tummy tuck and the full tummy tuck.

Ask your prospective surgeon, should you decide to proceed with surgery, to show you exactly where and how long the incision will be. Also ask your surgeon about the in-between options that might enable you to have a lower or shorter scar. (Brent Moelleken, MD, Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon)

Full tummy tuck

While it looks like from the photos that you would be a good candidate for a full tummy tuck, I would caution you to wait until you are done having children. Yes, I have done a few on patients that went on to get pregnant, but it was not planned that way. They all said that they were not going to have any more children. (Steven Wallach, MD, Manhattan Plastic Surgeon)

Should I Tighten My Muscle

Tummy tuck surgery before children

It is difficult to give an accurate opinion from photographs. It would appear that a full abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) is the way to go. While tightening the muscle wall will add to your recovery, your improvement will be almost unnoticeable without it. I cannot see much need for liposuction, however I do not have the advantage of an in-person exam. Having said that please do realize that if you plan on having more children, as you have stated, all the gains from your abdominoplasty will most likely be undone by a future pregnancy. (Pedro M. Soler, Jr., MD, Tampa Plastic Surgeon)

Tightening your muscles would likely be the icing on the cake when it comes to really sculpting your abdomen. This will add some recovery time and may be associated with some moderate tenderness beyond a week after surgery. I would definitely do some lipo around your hips at the same time as the tummy tuck. I recommend you wear or at least bring in your ideal swim suit for the preoperative marking process.  (Justin Yovino, MD, FACS, Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon)

Mini Tummy tuck

Abdominoplasty before children

I would do the full tummy tuck to remove all loose skin, tattoo and a percenteage of stretch marks with muscle retighting. I would also give you a new belly button. I do not think that there is fat that needs to be removed, this will just add unecessary discomfort and pain to your recove, with a Liposuction procedure that will not make much deiference, since you dont have much fat. As a professional I would advice you to wait untill having the desired amount of children to do this type of surgery though, you seem very young, and I find that it is unethical to perform this procedure in such a young woman specially if you are planning to have another baby. (Luis Suarez, MD, Mexico Plastic Surgeon)

I think the full TT was the better choice, but. Most of the improvement I anticipate will be from the mild tightening of the abdominal wall, less from removing a modest amount of skin. I am not sure you would have enough improvement with skin removal alone to justify the procedure. The tightening would add only a modest amount of added discomfort. I am not sure I can see much in the way of fat to suction, but that decision is better made in 3D rather than from a 2D photo. (Jourdan Gottlieb, MD, Seattle Plastic Surgeon)
