Your body will never be perfect – no of us will ever have a perfect body. I have one side a bit higher than the other – it’s all good – don’t over analyze your body – love it instead and embrace the wonderful new you!

One of my arieolas isn’t perfectly se metrical. At first I noticed a lot, and started to kind of freak out, and then I was looking in the mirror and literally laughed.. I have no desire to be perfect. And that isn’t what I did this for. =]

I’m so tired of having all this padding wrapped around me. Seems like everyone else just has a dressing across their incision. I have maxi pads taped over my incision (he removed tape yesterday) then I have an adult diaper on each of my sides soaking up the major oozing from lipo incisions. So it makes it about impossible to go to the bathroom because all the padding falls out! It’s slowed today so I’m hoping I won’t need them much longer and I get to shower tomorrow!!

  4. Sara says:

    How to take a shower:
Put a chair in the tub facing away from the stream. Then put all your stuff on the side of the tub or on a little stool in front of you so you can reach it. And if you need to shave, you have the lip of the end of the tub to prop your foot up on.
That’s what I do anyway. I just ‘enjoyed’ my shower for the fort time since my surgery. The others were hard. I was trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t. This was by far the easiest. Hope this helps someone in the future. =]

  21. Claire says:

Hi everyone! Im 6 weeks post tummy tuck op and for some reason my belly is huge all over!! I have recently discarded the support garment due to my PS’s instructions. Is this normal??? Thanks in advance

  22. Bobbi says:

If you are still swelling you might want to continue using your cg’s, it does help in keeping the swelling down. I’m 5 mos po & still use my cg’s. @ 6weeks po you are still healing.

  23. Roni says:

I’m 8 weeks and I still wear a support garment. I was advised by my PS to do so. Besides that I feel more comfortable with it thigh i do take it to sleep. Try Arnica tea once a day to help with swelling, you can get it at Walmart. Other than that i think you just have to wait it out. Best of luck

  24. Claire says:

Ok thanks guys, mite put it back on 4 a while…..i kinda feel lost without it now lol x

  25. Debra says:

I plan on using a cg always at bedtime. But now it feels good 24/7. 26 days po

  26. Jovanna says:

I wear mine like second skin, my surgeon told me once the drains were removed, to keeo it on..only remove it to shower and use the bathroom to poo…it has helped so much with the swelling one of the main reasons as to why its so tight…but it doesnt feel tight at all…if actually feels weird without it on

  27. Roni says:

    Yup I get ya Jovanna

  28. Indianna says:

  32. Sarah says:

Well I was going to walk my dog but I think I’ll just sit my happy butt back in the recliner. I’d take an anti inflammatory and rest if I were you…and wear my compression garment.

  37. Vicki says:

Have you considered going to a new doctor for a 2nd opinion?

  38. Camie says:

I don’t have the energy I spokes w the nurse I went at midnight last night to walmart n bought betadine n tape n pads n wrapped myself last night n washed myself down w it I feel 50% better waiting a few more hrs to take it off suppose to leave it on for 12 hrs take off take shower wash w only zest in which I was not doing I was using smelly stuff n I also put lotion on myself which there hoping it didn’t get into my blood stream so please don’t put that on ur body when u start itching it’s poison to us …..re wrap myself all but my belly button I have to let him air out till bed time I caved last night and took a pain pill as I was hurting and burning so bad and it felt like my skin was crawling ase etched em infection was being drained out of my body woke this morning and like I said feel better I’m all stained but at this point I don’t care……

  39. Camie says:

And this is a little graphic BUT this is my button it was gross as all get out when I applied to clean her out before I wrapped her the stuff that was being pulled out was yellow it was so gross but it seemed to relive the pressure off me when I cleaned n wrapped it….

  40. Tiara says:

Is it hot to the touch?

  41. Camie says:

    It’s warm

  42. Angela says:

Omg your belly button, looks bad i agree I’d have to maybe see my primary Dr

  43. Camie says:

Yep that’s what I’ve been saying primary wants me wrapped in betidine for the weekend

  44. Tiara says:

Oh OK. So that’s betadine outside of your belly button?

  45. Camie says:

No that is drainage from my belly button in which I’m being told is normal drainage when they take a diseased belly button off and reattached it he’s gonna drain to clean himself out

  46. Camie says:

The betadine I’ve been doing since well midnight when I couldn’t sleep and it was pretty intense I could feel the drainage n infection coming out my skin was crawling

  47. Cj says:

I saw my doctor wednesday im 14days today and I am slightly pink and he gave me 2 more weeks of antibiotics. Im oozing a little on my garments so I air out an hour or two a day. I cant wait to get out of the full body garment and boy I already need smaller clothes. I use to tell my hubby dont dry my jeans now I have to wash and dry in hot water to shrink. When have some of you gone out without the garment to dinner or whatever? 1 week, 1 month?

  48. Camie says:

    I’m not on anti

  49. Steph says:

Wow it really looks like inflammation & possibly infection, when you did have drains do you know how much fluid you were losing prior to them being taken out?

  50. Camie says:

Yep and I was concerned when he pulled em my right fell out 5/6 days out and it was at the time draining 60 day and my left he pulled out at 10 days when he took my casting off and it was still draining at 30+ a day I expressed concern but he’s the dr u know and yep it is inflamed I’m keeping it wrapped and he will b seeing me Tuesday and I was something done or I’m not leaving !!!!!!

  51. Steph says:

Wow 60 a day of fluid is a lot to be draining to have them taken out depending on the surgery it’s generally under 20ml some say under 50ml but I wouldn’t be thinking that’s correct at all make your stand because that’s not good enough, if your incisions are opening he needs to be applying wound care & possible stitches or glue.. Did you have muscle repair? Because if so not wearing a garment is not a good idea.. You want to keep it all tight & held together for at least 6 weeks

  52. Camie says:

I had a mini abnoplasty and he pulled a lot and he means a lot of skin off me and towards the center of the stomach muscle repair that I’m not sure of …… Yea as I said I was wondering if I should go to er BUT that’s a hr drive and I can’t for one stand to sit in the car that long yet remind u I’m 3 weeks out yesterday and he’s got me going bk to work in a week

  53. Steph says:

Yeah I probably wouldn’t be going back to work like that, especially if you can barely function now..

I would say it may be worth a trip, do you have like a healthline number you can call for advice if your unsure?

You don’t want to end up with a nasty infection & that leakage from your belly button is definitely not good.. If it was me id go to the ER & get seen

  54. Camie says:

We’ll see I was there on Tuesday he said as I think I wanna say I said above that he had to take away a nasty belly button and he made not so much a new one so it’s going to leak more and the pain he tells me is normal as I had 12.4 skin taken off and a whole lot of pulling and stretching …… More then normal I guess he looked at me said I’m fine n normal since surgery I never had any anti’s as I see most come home on….I am concerned and might get my sister to go with me as I’ve wanted to these last few days I did call the call center and they told me I was fine

  55. Steph says:

Hmm well I can assure you that I had a full tummy tuck with muscle repair, I had to have a complete new belly button reconstructed as well & certainly did not have leakage out of it nor would it have been normal to my surgeon

I guess it’s hard to tell over the phone & if you mentioned to the call centre your surgeon being ok with it they may of just thought he knew best (which you would think)

I think it’s a good Idea, take someone for support with you, Goodluck

  56. Steph says:

I could be wrong but your obviously very concerned yourself so that being said you should see a dr & see what’s going on, everyone’s different but it just sounds all a bit weird to me & those photos don’t look like your healing to well for the stage your at so I’m just worried for you

  57. Camie says:

I again just HATE being a whiner and the er’s here r just yucky n full of yucky ppls and don’t want to get it more infected yea know….. There also we’ll very slow

  58. Steph says:

You just have to remember your not long out of surgery you be a higher priority to some of them there & if you do have an untreated open wound with leakage your more than likely to contract a nastier infection than you are catching a bug from those people

  59. Susie says:

Camie are you ok? I’m sure a lot of the followers on my page would like to know how you went at the er, forgive me if you’ve posted since then I have been going through the posts just reading and I’m really warmed by the support and advice given to you. It’s great to see the group working for everyone and important to feel comfortable in chatting about these questions. Well done Camie for you are brave to post graphic pictures and is a reminder to us all to take care of ourselves, our wound care is so important. Hope to hear from you soon xx

  60. Camie says:

yep Ill post new photo’s from me phone…..I’m looking much better just belly button has a rank smell but not infected

  61. Camie says:

well I’m worried I go back to the dr the 8th and I’m a well transit operator I drive for 10+ hrs a day my job is physical in and out all day helping ppls in and out wheel chairs all day and electric chairs that can weight up to 600# I’m worried bout going back n seriously hurting myself ive told him this and I’ve also told him that there’s no light duty and well i guess he’s not dealt w someone with such a physical job i can not even at times do housework without buckling i just don’t know how i’m gonna do my job

  62. Catherine says:

To soon to be going back to that k7nd of job do not push yourself you will injure and undo the surgery youve had done

  63. Camie says:

    i know I’m worried ……

  64. Catherine says:

Can you get more time off

  65. Camie says:

ive already been out since May 22nd we have 12 weeks of FMLA but I’m going to b having my breast done

  66. Catherine says:

    Oh k its a worry

  67. Camie says:

yes not only that disability has denied me as it’s a cosmetic not medically necessary operation which the apron was medically needed

  68. Susie says:

Breasts aren’t as sore as tummy do you will be able to return to work sooner when u have them done. The tummy needs time to heal and it sounds like you need to start putting yourself first Hun. So so important. Take care xx

  69. Camie says:

I know I do I’m told all the time

  70. Jovanna says:

Document your ordeal by going into the emergency room, then call your dr. Office for a fallow up amd twll him you are in pain and in no shape to do certain things, that your going to need more time away from your job, he can not clear you if you are in this much discomfort
