There are many factors that contribute to attaining a result like the one that you want after a tummy tuck and liposuction.
It is not possible for me to say for sure without a physical exam, but all of the following should be considered.
– How much abdominal subcutaneous fat you have above the belly button
– It is not safe to aggressively liposuction this area during your tummy tuck, since the skin flap relies on this area for it’s blood supply. Therefore, if you do have a lot of fat, it will just be stretched down but not removed fully.
This would lead to a fuller appearance (the stomach would not be totally flat).
It is safe however to stage the liposuction in this area (can safely be done several months post-op from the tummy tuck).
– How much intra-abdominal fat you have
– Fat inside of the abdomen can contribute to abdominal protrusion and this is not removed with a tummy tuck. The only way to decrease this type of fat is diet and exercise.
– Your actual frame
– Liposuction can contour the waist and hips to give that sexy hour glass look but ultimately how small we can make your waist is limited by the size of your frame
– Any stretch marks on the skin that is not cut away with the tummy tuck will remain. Most of the time this entails any stretch marks present above the belly button. They will just be moved lower on your abdomen.
Although these simulation programs can be very helpful for patients to see what they might look like, it can be very disappointing for them if their results aren’t exactly what the photo shows.
It is important to find a plastic surgeon and undergo a formal consultation to make sure that this edited photo is in fact realistic for you. It might be helpful also to look at that surgeon’s before /after photos. (Erika Sato, MD, Houston Plastic Surgeon)
While you probably won’t look exactly like your photoshopped picture, you may be able to get close in that your waist can be tightened and hips contoured to give you the hourglass shape in the “after” picture. Better than an edited picture, have your surgeon show you before and after pictures of other patients with your body type – that will give you a better idea of what to expect after surgery. (Jason J. Hall, MD, FACS, Houston Plastic Surgeon)
Tummy Tuck before and After- Realistic Result?
Look at REAL before and after images. Perhaps what you desire can be accomplished. But, by looking at real before and after images, you can see what a specific doctor is able to accomplish for you. Very experienced surgeons may have 30 – 40 before and after images to view (see link to my gallery below)
Part of what you are looking to achieve is a narrower waist. be sure to find a plastic surgeon with experiencing in doing this by creating an internal forest. You also want a plastic surgeon who can address fullness above the belly button and create a new nelly button without scarring. (Michael Law, MD, Raleigh-Durham Plastic Surgeon)
Tummy Tuck realistic results
Definitely you are a wonderful candidate for a Full Tummy tuck to get rid of the saggy skin on your upper and lower abdomen and the muscle repair will help to achieve a beautiful and curvaceous small waist. The incision has to be placed very low in order to be easily hidden under a sexy bikini.
Also I would highly recommend to do liposuction to complete your beautiful transformation. So I truly believe that photo is realistic as a result. (Laura Carmina Cardenas, MD, Mexico Plastic Surgeon)
Your expectations are somewhat realistic. Abdominoplasty will remove all of your excess skin and fat, tighten your muscles – while liposuction of hips and flanks will contour your body into a smoother, more hourglass figure and you will feel better about how you look in your clothing. In the right hands – you should expect great results. (Thomas Trevisani, Sr., MD, Orlando Plastic Surgeon)
Realistic photo result?
This result is certainly obtainable with the right procedure. Certainly the north and south laxity can be highly improved with tummy tuck. The muscle tightening and lipo will improve the east west laxity.
However, the degree of the east/west tightening that is pictured is probably not what you are hoping for unless you do a fleur de lis type of tummy tuck. (Pablo Prichard, MD, Phoenix Plastic Surgeon)
Your waist will not be so narrow, the skin will not be so smooth and your thighs will still be large and loose. Go to a board certified plastic surgeon with more honesty than hype. (Mark Eberbach, MD, Tampa Plastic Surgeon)
