There is a great variation in the price of a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) from region to region and from surgeon to surgeon. The total price for the procedure includes the surgeon’s fee, the facility fee, and the anesthesia fee. Each of these costs can vary significantly depending on a number of factors.
In addition, other procedures may be required at the time of your tummy tuck, especially liposuction. I generally include the cost of small amounts of liposuction with the tummy tuck, but if extensive liposuction is necessary, an additional fee may be required.
In my office, the surgeon’s fee includes the preoperative and postoperative visits, one garment, and photographs. There is no one price for tummy tuck, but the cost is often less than $6000 in our AAAASF certified operating room. This includes facility, anesthesia, and surgeon’s fee. Significant liposuction will increase the overal price.

Prices vary in all geographic regions are made up of following components:
- Surgeon’s fee. An extended abdominoplasty with liposuction is more work, and therefore the patient is charged more.
- Surgical facility fee. The longer the procedure, in general, the more the cost
- Anesthesia fee. This usually is determined on an hourly rate.
- Supplemental insurance. Many surgeons uitlize a program called CosmetAssure. It’s an insurance policy that covers the costs associated with any potential complication – your standard health insurance won’t. This adds about $250 to the cost.

Because of so many variables, you’ll always be presented with a range. It extends between $7000 – $9500.

It’s always good to get an idea of the costs you’re looking at, but it’s hard to get a real price untiul you’re examined. Some patients can get by with more of a mini-tummy tuck, while others need extensive liposuction, muscle tightening, or lower body lifting.
