Is Diode Sheerlight Laser Safe for Upperlip As I Already Have Hyperpigmentation There?
Lightsheer will work for the upperlip regardless of hyperpigmentation
Jul 9, 2013
The Lightsheer laser is effective on the upper lip as long as the hair is dark. If you have white or blonde hairs it will not be effective. The Lightsheer is attracted to melanin so you will have some risk if the skin is hyper-pigmented but with that being said; The Lightsheer has the ability to be calibrated to work on darker skin tones. I would recommend a test spot first and then if that goes well you may proceed with treatment. If you are troubled by the ingrown hairs, I believe…
Can Lightsheer Diode Laser Remove Very Fine Black Hairs?
Laser on fine black hair
Jul 9, 2013
The LightSheer is effective on fine black hair. It is a diode laser and it is attracted to the melanin in the hair. You will generally need 5-7 treatments to effectively remove most of the hair with a touch -up treatment done bi-yearly.
IPL on Freckles?
IPl works Freckling
Jul 9, 2013
The IPL is effective for freckling but the patient must be aware that going into the sun or having exposure can cause the freckling to reappear. My office generally does 4-5 IPL treatments coupled with a medical grade skin care line for home care to help with pigmentation issues utilizing either prescription strength hydroquinone or an alternative if the patient isn’t comfortable using hydroquinone. We find that the combination leads to the best outcome for the patient.
TUBA Breast Augmentation
TUBA technique
May 9, 2011
The short answer to your question is yes, a sub-muscular placement is possible with a TUBA approach. But my concern at the moment with the TUBA technique is how one would control arterial bleeding if you do place the implant under the muscle. Invariably, you would want to release the pectoralis muscle at the inferior border and would most likely avulse some small arteries (perforators) that would be difficult to control. Hope that helps you
Small Anatomical Implants for Tuberous Breasts?
Textured anatomic implants
May 9, 2011
Your question  as it pertains to your particular problem  is a hard one to answer without more clinic information (photos, correct diagnosis, etc)  But in general, I find that anatomic implants don't make quite the difference that is touted because once the body recognizes a foreign body (i.e implant) it will immediately begin to wall it off into a capsule which will often contort the anatomic implant to lose it's shape during the encapsulation process. I…
Will IPL Treatment on Chest Skin Damage Silicone Breast Implants?
chest wall IPL
Feb 14, 2011
There is no reason for concern when receiving IPL for clearing up the dark age/sun spots of the chest in light of breast augmentation. The depth of energy delivery does not penetrate the level of the implants and you would not have any consequences from the treatment. Hope that helps
Breast Augmentation X Ray
imaging after breast augmentation
Feb 14, 2011
Great question, especially in light of mammogram screening that is so important for overall breast health. Fortunately, having either silicone or saline implant does not preclude you from any type of imaging (xray, ultrasound, MRI, CT, PET, etc.) It is a good idea to let the imaging techs know that they are present so they can adjust some techniques to get better qualtiy images. hope that helps
Does Raising the Nasal Bridge Have Essentially the Same Effect As Epicanthoplasty?
nasal bridge affecting epicanthal folds?
Jan 14, 2011
I don't think that raising the nasal bridge will have a huge impact on your epicanthal folds and they would not be considered equivalent in fixing any canthal issues. My recommendation is always to be conservative in my approach, to never burn any bridges, and try to create the most natrural results… Armed with that philosophy, I would recommend just like you suggested and tackle the blepharoplasty first and hold off on the medial canthoplasty until the nasal implant is in place. M
Possible to Remove Permanent Sutures (Possibly Prolene) from DST Method Done 3 Years Ago?
removal of sutures
Jan 14, 2011
If by DST you mean direct suture technique, then yes it is quite easy to remove any permanent sutures from your eyelid, especially if prolene or nylon suture is used. You might lose to effect from the Asian blepharoplasty in that you might lose the crease or it can be significantly weakeded or blunted. But if you feel that the sutures are spitting out, then yes, you can have them removed. I would recommend going back to the surgeon who placed such sutures, they would be able to take care…
Rhino 14 Days Ago – What Is This Yellow Tinge Around my Eyes and Forehead?
Yellow Tinge
Jan 14, 2011
Most likely it is your bruising that is evolving/resolving. Usually when you have surgery that causes some eccymosis aka brusing, the color goes through a transition from  a purple/black hue to a redish brownish color, then to a greenish and finally a yellowish tinge. It's also possible that if Betadine was used to prep your face for surgery, it could be the the dye from the betadine that is giving you the yellowish tinge. In either case, if you can be just a little more patient…
Double Eyelid Surgery and Loss of Function?
No loss of function to double eyelid surgery
Jan 14, 2011
There is no functional sequelae from receiving an Asian Blepharoplasty (double eyelid surgery). The mechanics of blinking should not be affected assuming the procedure is done properly and no too much skin is removed in the incisional technique or there is not too much tension with the non-incisional technique.
Is It Possible to Have Asian Double Eyelid Surgery Only on the End of my Eyes?
double eyelids at the ends of my eyes?
Jan 14, 2011
It is difficult to see from the photo you've posted the extent of the problem. Asian Eyelid Asymmetry

Either way the procedure is tricky and you certainly want to go to a well qualified plastic or ocuoloplastic surgeon for
