43 Year Old Ms. Treated With Mohs Surgery With Dr Landon, West Islip, New York

Living on Long Island, we spend a lot of time in the sun at the beach and out on the water. Skin cancer is very common on Long Island. The two most prevalent types of skin cancer are basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Currently, the standard of care for treating skin cancer in cosmetically sensitive areas, such as the nose, is Mohs surgery. Often times, Mohs surgery leaves the patient with unsightly defects and holes in their skin.
Obviously, just as every patient is unique, every skin cancer is unique and every Mohs defect is unique; therefore, individual results will vary. Nevertheless, the vast majority he of skin defects are rendered nearly invisible following reconstruction at South Shore Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.
