A wound care facility referred this elderly patient to us for a non-healing surgical wound on her lower left leg after incision and drainage. The doctor debrided the left leg wound, but one month after the procedure, there was a new ulceration below the existing wound. That is the before photo. An ultrasound revealed that these ulcers were caused by 5 incompetent perforator veins. We treated the incompetent veins with EVLA. The after photo is 3 months post op. The patient no longer has pain in her leg, and the wound has healed.
