Lipo versus tummy tuck
There are a few factors you need to consider such as future pregnancies, activity level, degree of improvement desired, etc .
The liposuction will contour your body but the end result will not be as drastic as in the tummy tuck.
Also I recommend to have the tummy tuck done if you are considering it, since performing a tummy tuck after liposuction has its own disadvantages.
You can discuss this further with a board certified surgeon in your area. Best to you! (Humberto Palladino, MD, FACS, Atlanta Plastic Surgeon)
You are a good candidate for Tummy Tuck. however, if you’re planning on having a fat transfer procedure first— then liposuction of multiple areas would be recommended before Tummy Tuck and Breast Augmentation. You have to decide for yourself – what is your primary goal and desire? Find a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with years of experience. (Thomas Trevisani, Sr., MD)
Looking at your pictures, it appears that you have enough fat in your abdomen and waist to do liposuction, and then transfer the fat removed to your buttock. Based on your pictures, it does not appear that you have enough loose skin on your abdomen to be a good Tummy Tuck candidate. However, examing you would be the only way to be able to give you an exact treatment plan. (Ramon Robles, MD, Phoenix Plastic Surgeon)
Lipo of the abdomen, flanks, lower back, and surrounding areas and buttock fat grafting would be a great option. If you have had children and are considering a tummy tuck down the road then liposuction and buttock fat grafting at the first stage would be a great choice. (Remus Repta, MD, Scottsdale Plastic Surgeon)
Timing Of Tummy Tuck
If you want to have fat transferred to your buttocks, it probably would be best to have lipo first. This will provide more fat to transfer. You can then decide later if you would still benefit from a tummy tuck with the augmentation. (John Whitt, MD, Louisville Plastic Surgeon)
The answer to Lipo versus Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty) is based on what your goals are? If you want the best shape possible then a tummy tuck probably with some liposuction will give you the best results. If you want a lot of the heaviness improved and don’t mind a little loose skin (the younger the better the skin retracts), then liposuction may be your best procedure. It is best to be examined and discuss your desired outcome with a board certified plastic surgeon. (Scott Haupt, MD, Salt Lake City Plastic Surgeon)
Looking at your pictures, you will be a good candidate for lipo and fat transfer. Wait at least 6 months and decide which tummy tuck approach is best suited for you, with your surgeon. The amount of hanging skin after lipo can be unpredictable. In part, it depends on your age, health and your skin tone and quality.At that point, the loose skin will declare itself: Good muscle tone with excess lower abdominal skin overhang;
Mini-Tummy tuck. Weak muscles with overall loose abdominal skin; Full tummy tuck. Although, infrequently performed together, doing the tummy tuck and fat transfer at the same time will deprive you from the available fat stores above your navel. Traditionally, liposuction is performed conservatively, if not at all, in the upper abdomen during full abdominoplasty. Certainly, no harm in staging your procedures. (Maan Kattash, MD, FRCS, Raleigh-Durham Plastic Surgeon)
There is no perfect answer to this question of tummy tuck versus lipo. Recovery, cost and expected results are different for the two procedures but great results are possible in both operations with a young person with healthy skin. A thorough discussion with a good surgeon will help you to know what your options are and help him or her to guide you through the decision making process. Be patient in finding the right doctor. (Jeremy Pyle, MD, El Paso Plastic Surgeon)
You can choose which to do first. A tummy tuck (although an exam is needed to be sure) and breast enlargement will give you a more permanent result – But lipo and BBL will allow fat to be harvested from the entire abdomen – some of this fat is gone after a tummy tuck. Discuss your preferences with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. (Elizabeth Morgan, MD, PhD, Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon)
It appears a tummy tuck would give you better results than just lipo.Of course you would need to be examined in person by an experienced plastic surgeon to be certain.
Do not consider liposuction. You need a tummy tuck. Lipo would be a waste of money. (Kenneth D. Christman, MD, Dayton Plastic Surgeon)
According to your images you are a great candidate for a tummy tuck , because you have a little extra skin, it would be like flabby if you make only a liposuction. But first you have to make a evaluation with a Certified Plastic Surgeon. (Tania Medina de Garcia, MD, New York Plastic Surgeon)
A super flat stomach may not be a realistic goal. To maximize your results however, it would be best to try to lose more weight first, then look into a combination of lipo and a tummy tuck. (Keith M. Blechman, MD, Portland Plastic Surgeon)
Without an examination you are clearly a candidate for an abdominoplasty and ideally after weight loss
