What is the difference between a mini tummy tuck and a full tummy tuck
Although an exam would allow a more accurate assessment, it certainly appears from your submitted photos that a mini-tummy tuck would achieve a nice result.
Laser lipo should not be expected to significantly tighten loose skin. (C. Cayce Rumsey III, MD, Jacksonville Plastic Surgeon)
What is the difference between a mini tummy tuck and a full tummy tuck
Some type of a mini tummy tuck or full tt with an umbilical float is probably the right answer. You definitely need the muscles tightened and lipo alone can’t correct that problem.
Meet eith a few PS to learn more about your options. (Mahlon Kerr, MD, FACS, Austin Plastic Surgeon)
You look great for having 2 children. I do not feel that lipo will do much for you. I would discuss the options of the other 2 with you. You seem to only have the laxity for a mini tummy tuck, but you probably will want some improvement of the belly button region.
If you have a full tummy tuck to correct this area, chances are that opening will not make it down to the pubic hair region so you will have an up and down scar where it reaches to.
I would probably recommend just a mini tummy tuck with repair of the muscles above and below the belly button, and possibly a little tightening of the skin around the belly button. I would discuss this with a surgeon in your area. (Rick Rosen, MD, Norwalk Plastic Surgeon)
I might add you look great but an examination is really needed to determine what might be the best procedure for you so go on some in person consults with experts in your areaDr Corbin (Frederic H. Corbin, MD, Brea Plastic Surgeon)
Most people would love to look like you so congrats. The hard part is that you will add a low scar across the abdominal area and also likely a vertical scar where incision around belly button is closed on the lower mid line of the abdominal wall.
This is a modified tummy tuck because you do not have as much skin to remove to all the way above the belly button. I hope this is not confusing. A well respected plastic surgeon should be able to guide you and show pictures. Good Luck! (Gregory Lynam, MD, Richmond Plastic Surgeon)
You look very fit and don’t really have a lot of excess fat. You would need to be examined to be sure, but patients like you may benefit from a mini Tummy tuck.
You may consider having liposuction or laser lipo in combination with a mini tummy tuck. By itself, laser lipo is unlikely to make the skin of the lower abdomen disappear. (Yuly Gorodisky, DO, Oxnard Plastic Surgeon)
It is difficult to tell from your photos, but it looks like you have only a small amount of loose skin at the lower part of the abdominal wall. An in-person exam by a board certified plastic surgeon can help you to know your options.
For people with a small excess of skin like that, a mini tummy tuck can be a good solution. Be sure to discuss with your plastic surgeon the plans for your belly button and abdominal muscles if you proceed with surgery. (Emily J. Kirby, MD, Fort Worth Plastic Surgeon)
Should I have a tummy tuck, mini tuck, or laser lipo?
From your photos, it does not appear that you have excess fat on your abdomen. It more looks like a small amount of loose skin at the inferior aspect that isn’t appreciated unless you are bent forward in a relaxed position.
Laser liposuction can tighten skin, but the tummy tuck results are not as good if the skin is damaged (for example from pregnancy or massive weight gain – a sign of “damaged” skin is stretch marks).
Essentially you would be trading a large scar for excision of a small amount of skin. I cannot tell without an exam, but you may not have enough loose skin to excise all the way to your belly button position.
If this is the case, you may be left with a small vertical scar in addition to the transverse scar. (Erika Sato, MD, Houston Plastic Surgeon)
