Your pictures seem to indicate that additional weigh loss is unnecessary before having surgery. Limited liposuction is part of the TT procedure, and does not prolong length of recovery, which is variable(depending on patient, surgeon , techique used, complications, etc.), but in our experience , within one to two you should be back to non-strenuous activities.

Find a surgeon who uses the no-drain (progressive tension suture) abdominoplasty technique, which allows upright posture early, no drains, and a belly button which is inset from under the skin flap, improving apprearance and locating the belly button appropriately.

However, the only meaningful answers to your questions are those answerd by a Surgeon certified by the Am, Bd of P>S. In a real consultation. (Harlan Pollock, MD, Dallas Plastic Surgeon)

Scar and Recovery after Tummy Tuck board

You appear that you will do fine with a short scar tummy tuck where the scar can be as low as possible. Liposuction is only done when there is fullness on the sides beyond the effect of the tummy tuck. Liposuction does not really affect the recovery after a tummy tuck. (Barry L. Eppley, MD, DMD, Indianapolis Plastic Surgeon)

Tummy tuck scar position and recovery issues are important considerations

You appear to be a good candidate for a standard abdominoplasty. I tend to do flank liposuction on all tummy tucks because I think it helps the overall result. Seek out a board certified plastic surgeon in your area for an opinion. (Scott C. Sattler, MD, FACS, Seattle Plastic Surgeon)

You are a good candidate for tummy tuck with muscle repair and liposculture to abdomen and back, recovery time varies from one person to another but it is usually two to three weeks. You don’t look overweighted so you can have your surgery with your current weight if you are thinking about having fat transfer, tummy tuck scar usually goes pretty low to be hidden with your underwear, belly buttons have to be corrected during surgery if it presents any abnormality. (Australia Fragoso Baez, MD, Dominican Republic Plastic Surgeon)

Tummy tuck board and lipo

In my humble opinion you are perfect candidate for a full Tummy Tuck which means an incision placed right above the pubic area in order to be hidden underneath a bikini and the length would be hip to hip bone. That length would permit us to do a tight muscle repair in order to achieve a nice flat abdomen and a tapered waist.

Definitely the belly button has to be centered and small to be aesthetic. I definitely would recommend to add some liposuction, not to remove fat, just to sculpt your already beautiful body shape, I would recommend lipo around the waist line and lower back and if you want, to transfer that fat into your butt muscle to add some projection.

Based on what I see on your photos you are very close to your ideal weight. So please just do not put on weight prior surgery. Hopefully you may have a great experience on your journey. Dr. Laura Carmina Cardenas (Laura Carmina Cardenas, MD, Mexico Plastic Surgeon)

Tummy Tuck Surgery

Tummy tuck surgery with liposuction is about a three week recovery in most cases. Your weight from your photos look very good. The scar is always a concern and the quality of the scar various from patient to patient. It is a long incision as well, hip to hip. The belly button is a sign of a good or average tummy tuck. Look at the doctors photos closely. (Miguel Delgado, Jr., MD, San Francisco Plastic Surgeon)

Tummy tuck board questions

Abdominoplasty board

Recovery time after a tummy tuck is typically in the 1-2 week range. Most patients take off 2 weeks of work, depending on the type of work they do. I generally ask my patients to refrain from any significant lifting for 6 weeks. From your pictures, it does not appear you need to lose any significant weight.

However, you want to make sure you feel you are at your ideal weight before undergoing surgery. It does appear that you may have a shorter scar since you don’t have a lot of excess in the love handle region and the scar should sit low (maybe below the C-section scar).

The belly button should always be centered and have an un-operated look. Sometimes, if there are healing issues, the belly button can look distorted. (Naveen Setty, MD, Dallas Plastic Surgeon)

A short scar tummy tuck can be performed to minimize the scar length. The scar will be hidden below the clothing line. Recovery is typically one to two weeks with or without liposuction. The belly button should always be centered and look as natural as possible. Find a plastic surgeon who performs hundreds of tummy tucks and liposuction procedures each year.

Then look at the plastic surgeon’s website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA (Kenneth B. Hughes, MD, Los Angeles Plastic Surgeon)
