Paper tape and silicone tape can reduce the tension on the scar. Reducing tension results in a narrower or finer scar. Stitches in the deep layers of the soft tissues do the majority of this work but the tape helps externally. Both paper tape and silicone tape will also prevent dehydration however silicone is much more effective. Trans epidermal water loss or dehydration of the scar increases the inflammatory response, which causes more scarring (Dr. Tom Mustoe).

abdominoplasty, breast surgery and possibly liposuction. Whether or not these
procedures are done at the same time is determined by multiple factors. Patient safety is first and foremost when

healthy well balanced diet consisting of low fat proteins, fruits and vegetables
is excellent. As the surgical date approaches (2 weeks prior) one should
consider avoiding NSAIDS and aspirin (since these can thin the blood and
increase your risk of bleeding). Various
foods, vitamins and supplements can also affect the clotting cascade, by

type of surgery and what needs to done.
Delaying a revision allows for the “dust to settle” physiologically and
emotionally speaking. This approach allows
